The Gorge of the Adler river
The Gorges de Galamus is a narrow gorge between the Aude and Pyreneaen-Orientales Departements. It is between 205 and 108 million years old and consists of lime and dolomite.
Hammered into the cliffs is the hermitage of Saint Antoine, reduced to a cave. Today, a chapel still exists that was built in 1782 to commemorate a “miracle.”
